Gordon Biersch Season Schedule

Kelly from Gordon Bierch was kind enough to give me a heads up on their seasonal beers for the year. For VA and DC they will have the following on tap….

April 10th – May 27th, MaiBock

June 26th – August 5th, Kolsch

September 18th – October 28th, FestBier

November 27th – January 6th, 2008, WinterBock

I need to get out and try more of their beer now that they have a restaurant in Tysons Corner Mall.

Gordon Biersch DC

HEFEWEIZEN(hay-fa-VEIT-sen)
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light, sparkling quality. Later, wheat
beers were considered breakfast or after church beers, a testament to their crisp,
refreshing flavor.

SCHWARZBIER
Literally “black beer” in German. Schwarzbier has a fairly light body with a dry, roasted
finish.
Original gravity: 11.2° Plato Alcohol by volume: 4.30%

GOLDEN EXPORT
A smooth, refreshing lager, lightly hopped with a dry finish. The demand was so high
when it was first brewed in the 1870s, that it was “exported” to other regions in Germany

MÄRZEN(Maert-zen)
A dry, auburn-colored, Bavarian lager with a mildly sweet finish. It was originally brewed in
March (“März” in German) and stored in caves to be drunk during warmer weather.
