The Oregonian has a story about the Widmer Brothers Brewery working with home brewers to give them a chance to scale their home brews up to a commercial sized batch. This sound like a create idea to give home brewers a chance to have their own beers on tap at a few pub.

The Seatle Times is reporting that Redhook and Widmer Brothers to merge. Both companies will keep their existing breweries, including Widmer’s breweries in Portland and Redhook’s in Woodinville and Portsmouth, N.H. They also plan to continue making their existing beers, including Redhook’s ESB and Widmer’s Hefeweizen.
